On Friday, January 23, 110 staff and community members came together to donate to this winter's WEA/WCA blood drive, and 104 productive units of blood were collected. This was an increase of 14 units over last year and was the most productive mobile of the week for the Red Cross in Central Ohio. Red Cross officials were especially pleased with the 22 first-time donors who participated. Both Channel 4 and Channel 10 were there to cover the event.
Thanks to all who donated blood, and a special thanks to the many members who worked to make the drive a success, including the following blood drive volunteers:
Becky Beyer (Granby), Christy Coupland (Brookside/Bluffsview), Marianne Jones (Worthington Hills), Dale Winters (Perry), Sue Furbee (Sutter), Nonie Chick (Sutter), Tina Swearengin (Granby), Kristen Watson (Granby), Erin Brandol (Sutter), Sandy St. Cyr (Worthington Estates), Becky Stratis (McCord), Greg Ross (McCord), Rosemary Sartor (Granby), Debbie Gartley (Granby), Trish Ramey (Worthington Estates), Jerry Wilson (Wilson Hill), Vicki Beetham (Liberty), Jan Gardner (Wilson Hill), Kathy Starks (Perry), Lee Ann Parsons (Worthingway), Nancy Smith (KMS), Stephanie Riedmiller (Col. Hills), Rose Daiga (TWHS), Debbie Voisin (TWHS), Susan Dirr (Worth. Park), Anita Beck (Brookside), Suzanne Laird (Liberty). (Apologies for anyone who may have been missed.)
A great deal of thanks goes to Maureen Looker and WCA for putting together a fantastic lunch and for everyone else who made this day a success!
NOTE: A smaller, shorter follow-up drive has been scheduled for the June staff work day. Watch for details on that later in the spring.
